FÁNAÍ, means "wanderer" in Irish and describes the trio very well as they always seemed to be off somewhere else and not always together.
But when they do get together, which they have been doing a lot lately they make a great sound, Upcomin tour in the North West, details below.
In the past, the trio were very well received every where they went, whether it was a bar, concert or church that they played. Which has led them to arrange more tours the latest takes them to OR & WA.
This tour, Fánaí starts in Portland where they will be joined by Mick Mulcrone at one or two of their gigs. Mick is the one playing the flute on my right.
Mick is also a great singer and lately he's been accompanying himself on the bouzouki.
The other musicians in this photo are Bill Wolf on flute and Noel Higgins on box, this was taken a couple of years ago in Gurteen on the Sunday Morning after "the night before."
